When you think of Soul music you may picture an artist singing. However, can a rapper be considered Soulful in the same way Sam Cook or Donny Hathaway is considered Soulful? Danami challenges this notion with enriching vulnerable stories for Husbands and Fathers. Fans have compared Danami’s style to Hip-Hop artist Lupe Fiasco infused with Motown Soul. The pairing of Hip-Hop cadence and rhythm with emotion driven storytelling creates an engaging Soulful Hip-Hop experience.

It all started when 3 boys from the cornfields of Kokomo, Indiana came down to Nashville in 2017 to begin a musical journey and expand their talents across the world. As the band has travelled on their rock n roll oddysey, they have expanded both musically and spiritually, resulting in new trippy, psychedelic sounds, progressive instrumental features and a conceptual essence taking the audience from the American south, across the seas to the deserts of Egypt and up to the moon and beyond, into new dimensions that no one can explain.
The band seeks to preach its holy rock n roll message of revealing spiritual truths to the masses using a wide arrangement of musical tactics, resulting in a path that has lead the boys to magic. And that magic has casted itself into their world and given them the identity they longed for. After a little meeting down at the crossroads, they were blessed with a job to do and a message to reveal to the people. When the boys asked the rock gods to reveal the new name they needed to reveal this message… the response was simple: “You are The Reveal” The trio is often compared to blues rock icons like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, White Stripes, Black Sabbath, Rush and The Black Keys.
Meet Anana Kaye, a Nashville based Indie Alt-Americana Duo. Hailing from Georgia, the other one, where Argonauts sailed to steal The Golden Fleece and where wine was invented 8000 years ago, Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel deliver a unique and distinctly European sound we rarely experience in such potent doses today. With influences including Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and David Bowie their music is a genre bending musical experience akin to twisting kaleidoscope. Huffington Post calls them “rich, strong, tender, translucent, and dynamic. The luminous vibrancy simply embraces the listener, enfolding you into sumptuousness.” Anana’s voice brings their ambient sound back to reality with it’s luxuriously earthy tone and husky timbre.
Atmosphere begets the spark, and in turn, the hours of exploration feed the feeling often of ritual progressions. Twisting knobs expands a source into a choice. Stream of consciousness draws the heart where the mind would not allow. The co-fronted project isn’t so much focused on the result, but how it flickers as it forms. With a sound branded as ghost-pop, the husband-wife duo sketch textures built around a minimalist post-rock and the organic-electronic blend of modern indie atmosphere. Delayed-soaked guitars support cinematic lifts and carry bouts of questioning, bearing the strain to see the bigger picture. Influenced by artists like Sigur Ros, Broods, Mutemath, and Oh Wonder.

“Elska” means love. “Von” means hope. Love and hope. Two things every single person longs for and needs, and yet two things much too lacking in our world. Music is my way of attempting to bring a glimpse of that love and hope that often feels so distant. From hearing the wood floor creak in piano recordings while family walked around upstairs, sampling in washing machines sounds via iPad, sending synths and vocals out to guitar pedals, recording unplugged electric pianos, or using the human body as drum triggers, each song was created in a unique way.
